Questions about cost

Is TILL really free?

TILL is MIT licensed and costs nothing, with no limit on users, companies or bookings. You need no account and no subscription. Every feature in the beta is in this one version: there is no paid edition of the software.

Will TILL stay free?

TILL is MIT licensed, and Nomadik GmbH plans for its core to stay that way. The MIT licence on a version you already have has no expiry and no clause that lets anyone withdraw it, so you can keep running, changing and passing on that version whatever happens to the project.

The paid part planned for later is hosting, for teams that would rather not run TILL themselves. The app on your computer is complete without it.

Who pays for development?

Nomadik GmbH builds TILL. The plan is open core: the core stays free under MIT, and the paid part is a Swiss-hosted version, planned for later. Today Nomadik charges only for help, with setup and with moving from bexio. How decisions are made in the project is set out in GOVERNANCE.md.
