TILL is an independent project. Other vendors’ products are named for orientation; there is no affiliation with them and no endorsement by them.

The software itself is under the MIT licence, which expressly grants no warranty. Responsibility for your own bookkeeping, including the retention duty under OR Art. 958f, stays with you.

Privacy

This website has no form, no account and no newsletter signup. No email addresses are collected and no profiles are built. What is processed is listed below in full.

If you write to us by email, your message sits in our mailbox at Infomaniak in Switzerland. That is ordinary correspondence, not automated processing.

Processors

Two service providers are involved in this website. There are no others.

Vercel Inc., USA

Hosting. Vercel receives every request to this website and writes technical logs in doing so, including IP address, timestamp, requested address and browser identification. This happens regardless of consent, because a website cannot be served without a server.

Google Ireland Limited, Ireland

Google Analytics 4, to measure use of this website. Loaded only if you explicitly accept in the banner. Without that acceptance no Google script is loaded and no request is sent to Google. Google may transfer data to the USA and process it there, where the level of data protection does not match the Swiss one.

Consent and cookies

Without consent this website sets no analytics cookies. The consent decision itself is stored in your browser’s local storage so the question does not return on every visit. That entry never leaves your browser.

If you accept, Google Analytics sets its own cookies. If you withdraw consent through the link in the footer, those cookies are deleted and nothing further is loaded.

For the legal position: the requirement to obtain consent before storing analytics data on your device follows from ePrivacy Directive Art. 5(3) as nationally implemented. The Swiss Data Protection Act requires transparency about processing in Art. 19, not consent to analytics. We ask anyway, because a website that argues for data ownership can hardly do otherwise.

Your rights

You can ask whether and which personal data we process about you, and ask for it to be corrected or deleted. Write to hello@tillbooks.ch. We answer within 30 days.

Honestly: apart from the logs at Vercel and, after your consent, the analytics data at Google, we hold nothing about you. Any such answer will be short.
